Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Kelele Escrow cost?

We charge 2.5% of the transaction value. Minimum fee is KES 200, maximum is KES 5,000. The fee is paid by the buyer on top of the transaction amount.

How long does the inspection period last?

You choose when creating the escrow: 1, 3, 7, or 14 days. If the buyer doesn't release or dispute within that time, funds are automatically released to the seller.

What happens when there's a dispute?

Either party can raise a dispute during the inspection period. Kelele's team will review evidence from both sides and make a fair resolution within 3–5 business days. Funds remain on hold during this period.

Can I cancel an escrow?

Yes, you can cancel a pending escrow (before it's funded) at any time. Once funded, you'll need mutual agreement or dispute resolution to cancel.

Does the seller need a Kelele account?

The seller receives a notification via WhatsApp/SMS/email with a link to view the escrow. They don't need an account to receive funds, but having one gives them full access to the dashboard.
